Traditional methods, modern precision
The same calculation a careful Vedic astrologer would do — done deterministically, at scale.
Swiss Ephemeris
Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris — the same high-precision data used by professional astronomers — to 4-decimal accuracy. No approximation, no fallback unless the data is unavailable (and we flag it when that happens).
Lahiri Ayanamsa
All longitudes are sidereal, corrected from tropical positions using the Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard for Vedic (Parashara) astrology — so signs and nakshatras match traditional calculation.
Shadbala (6-fold strength)
Planetary strength is measured with classical Shadbala — Sthana, Dig, Kala, Cheshta, Naisargika, and Drik bala — in Virupas, validated against the classical Rupa thresholds. Strength weights every prediction.
Divisional charts (D1–D60)
Domain-specific vargas — Navamsa (D9) for marriage, Dashamsa (D10) for career, and more — are computed per planet, so each life area is read from the chart built for it.
Vimshottari Dasha
Timing uses the Moon-nakshatra-based Vimshottari system: mahadasha → antardasha → pratyantardasha across the 120-year cycle, scanned forward to produce dated windows.
Yoga & Dosha detection
Yogas and doshas are detected by deterministic Parashara rules — same chart in, same result out — not by a language model guessing. Doshas are reported with severity, not a blunt yes/no.

Calculate first, explain second
Every reading is computed deterministically before any AI touches it. The AI only puts proven chart facts into clear language — it never invents placements or predictions.
Every claim traces to evidence
Each statement maps back to a specific chart fact (a placement, a yoga, a dasha period). Claims without supporting evidence are not emitted.
Honest confidence
Predictions carry a confidence tier — LOW, MODERATE, HIGH, VERY_HIGH — and VERY_HIGH must be earned by multiple independent factors, not just a high score. Weak signals are shown as weak, not hidden.
We flag degraded precision
If high-precision ephemeris data is ever unavailable and the engine falls back, the chart is flagged as degraded rather than quietly presented as exact.
